DuPont's Enzyme For Optimal Biogas Production

Optimash AD-300 is an enzyme product designed to improve biogas production during anaerobic digestion in the waste water industry. Optimash AD-300, a protease-only product, is effective at breaking down organic materials that contain protein, such as wastewater sludge, food waste, animal and farm waste. It functions by breaking down the protein polymers, resulting in soluble amino acids that are more suitable for biogas-producing organisms.
The enzymes improve the efficieny of fermentation, which optimises the usage of the organic waste and further reduces volatile solids.
The amount of energy produced per kg of organic waste is increased.
It can degrade proteinaceous materials into soluble amino acids quickly, accelerating biogas production, and increase protein-based biogas yields up to 12 per cent.
The enzyme can be introduced into any biogas process, including in a pretreatment, separate hydrolysis step, as well as directly into a primary fermenter.
