Waste heat recovery as an avenue in textile industries - a review

  • This paper explores the scope to recover waste heat energy in the textile industry. It explains the thermal energy usage in the textile industry and elaborates on the different sources of waste heat recovery. It also discusses a case study on heat recovery from an economic point of view.

    From the case studies, the paper has estimated that the payback period of investment for the waste heat recovery system is in between one to two years for most of the systems and hence proposes waste heat recovery as an economical process.
