Virtual gathering of 80 brand owners like Mars, PepsiCo, and Whole Foods and other stakeholders brainstormed zero-waste food packaging.
The Redefining Flexible Films Innovation Workshop (RFF), held in Dec 2020 and curated and produced by Reyna Bryan, president, RCD Packaging Innovation. It got executives from leading consumer packaged goods brands, including Ben & Jerry’s, Happy Family, Mars, PepsiCo and Whole Foods, as well as other retailers, manufacturers and waste managers.
The theme for brainstorming was "How can we deliver food products to consumers in a way that generates zero waste and still allows brands to differentiate themselves in the market?"
Putting together any business event is not easy. Getting top brands - from 80 companies - to put their heads together and come up with dozens of ideas is not easy at all.
Reportedly, over 1000 ideas were generated. Whew! Even if a fraction of these are very good and get implemented, that's a job well done.
