Aluminium scores better against glass, paper and plastic on many sustainability parameters
So, just read these:
Al can be infinitely recycled, with over 70% of all Al produced in the last 100 years still in use
Recycling Al saves 90% energy compared to producing virgin metal
Its impacts on soil and water are far lower compared to say, plastics
On most of the above, Al scores better than glass, paper and single use plastics. Even on the rest, it is on par with others.
Is it time that the packaging industry gave a much higher emphasis on Aluminium?
