India's ITC Windsor is world’s first hotel to achieve LEED Zero Carbon Certification

Known for its ethos of ‘Responsible Luxury’, ITC Hotels has been ranked as the world’s largest hotel chain that has the maximum number of Platinum Certified Properties

The term "responsible luxury" might sound like sarcasm to you, and "sustainable luxury" even more so, but we live in a world where luxury is a large (and growing) market.

So, if we cannot get rid of luxury, the next best thing is to design it for as low an ecological impact as possible.

India's ITC Hotels chain has been leading the way in their efforts to make their luxury hotel properties environmentally responsible. and they have enough awards to show for these.

In addition to their measures for water conservation and waste management, significant initiatives to make their energy consumption low carbon stand out - use of wind power for the electrical consumption, installing energy efficient HVACs, and incorporating a slew of green building design components.

Congratulations.
