Sustainable Clothing Action Plan is a collaborative framework developed by WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Program), a UK based organization. It brings together organizations from across the textile value chain to reinvent the textile design and processes towards sustainability.
Working with more than 80 organizations, SCAP assists the companies in making sustainable decisions through reports, guides, tools and case studies. Some of the key areas focused under this plan include development of resource efficient business models, innovative designs for extending clothing life, sustainable fibre and fabric selection, changing consumer behavior and more.
In 2017, SCAP signatories have cut water impacts by 13.5%; carbon impacts by 10.6%; waste impacts arising across the product life cycle by 0.8%, and there has been a reduction in household residual waste by 14%, per tonne of clothing.
