Energy efficient measures in Indian textile companies - case studies

This resource represents a collection of eight case studies on energy efficiency measures implemented by prominent Indian textile companies during the period 2012-15.

Detailed presentations on those companies comprising the type of energy efficiency measures adopted, their cost and/or energy savings have been provided.

Some of the prominent energy efficiency measures implemented by these companies include energy efficient lighting, energy efficient motors and pumps and variable frequency drives. Results from a case study where the company implemented variable frequency drives in various process streams such as circulation blower, jumbo jigger, circulation pump, hot air fan, cooling fan and exhaust fan showed that significant annual energy savings of about 3,33,500 kWh would be possible.
