This guidebook provides information on around 190 existing and emerging energy efficient measures and technologies in the textile industry.
Based on an extensive survey, details on energy and cost savings from detailed case studies across the globe have been provided where available. The analysis of the energy efficient opportunities includes both retrofit/process optimization as well as complete replacement of the current machinery with the state of the art technology.
The key textile industry sub-sectors focused are spinning, weaving, wet processing, man-made fibre and other cross-cutting technologies. More research on economics and the feasibility of these technologies based on plant specific processes would enable textile industries adopt energy efficient measures in a short term.
