Sustainable textile wastewater management remains a challenge owing to a number of factors - lack of knowledge on latest best available technologies, economic challenges and more. This manual is based on a conference held in Germany in 2018 to share the perspectives of industry experts on various best available techniques for sustainable textile wastewater treatment.
The conference saw the participation of experts from various textile wastewater related sectors who shared their experiences in working towards creating an eco-friendly textile ecosystem. Some of the key topics discussed include in-house measures to increase energy and water efficiency, preferred chemicals for textiles, guidelines to meet ZDHC standards, and case studies on various innovative, sustainable techniques implemented in textile mills from across the globe.
The manual would enable textile industry professionals implement more sustainable practices across the value chain to effectively manage and treat textile wastewater.
